Chapter 1

Alforce-veedramon’s past I - The loner

“I’ve been searching…” a digimon clad in blue armor thinks. “For the one man, my dearest sweetheart and the one who shared the most wonderful time with me…” the cape of this seemingly matured digimon blows in the air as he continues. He settles down beside a warmly lit campfire he had prepared earlier, reminiscing his past.

“Master Leomon! I had just collected woods from Kuwaga village!” the blue-armored digimon notified his teacher, ready for more training.

“Very well done, Alforce-veedramon! I’m proud of you as always!” the lion digimon praised, stroking the cheek of his student. Alforce do not know why, but he felt a warm and tingly sensation inside chest. Whenever his master touches him, this feeling is always there. He thought that maybe, just maybe he had something for his master, this thing call love that he often heard about from ancient humans, the creators of Digiland.

Before Alforce met these humans or his master, he was a loner, without love and kindness. He was born without his parents, having to take care of himself and enduring the pain inflicted upon him by local bullies in his village. Not soon after, he digivolved into a wild and heartless digimon. He was so furious, so full of hatred of his past that he murdered countless innocent digimons wherever he finds. One day, he was doing his weekly routine, destroying Guardromons that patrols MachineCity. However, he had under-estimated them this time. A Machinedramon was hired to stop him from harassing the city. With a huge blast from that massive digimon’s cannon, Alforce was blown miles away, crushing into an old dilapidated building. Since it is beyond the boundaries of MachineCity, Machinedramon was unable to trace the whereabouts of his victim.

Alforce was serverely hurt, but he could still manage the pain. The place surrounding Alforce is ancient and dusty. Weird writings were imprinted on the walls. Being a semi-literate, Alforce could only comprehend the first letter. He sighed frustratingly and slammed the ground dejectedly. His eyelids were heavy and he barely had the strength to resist it. Slowly, his vision blackened and he fell into a deep slumber.

Alfo..rce…can you hear me?” a soft voice reached out to the sleeping digimon. It seemed to have taken into effect and Alforce was blinking his eyes, as he began to wake up. “Good…you are awake…” the voice carried on. Alforce turned around and saw a holographic humanoid figure, looking down at him. He was rather old.

“Who are you? What do you want from me!” the ultimate digimon, being the impulsive digimon, punched the image in futile.

“You cannot harm me…nor can I touch you. I’m what is left of the last surviving human in Digiland. As you can see, my brain is preserved through that machine over there…” he pointed to a cylindrical device filled with green liquid, with a grayish matter floating about.

“Humans huh? Never heard of them! Care to explain yourself?” Alforce stopped to prompt the old man.

“Gladly! We are the creators of Digiland, a long time ago…”

“Bastard! Why did you have to make me suffer in this world? All these years I had been enduring pain and agony and no one cares! It’s all your fault! I hate you!” Alforce interrupted the old man and attempted to hit him, only to fall forward.

“I’m sorry, we didn’t mean for that to happen. For you see, a long time ago, Digiland was a peaceful and pure land, whereby everyone lived in harmony. There was love and kindness and weren’t any trace of evils around…” the elder paused. Alforce, being intrigued, sat down and crossed his legs to listen to what he had to say. The elder opened his mouth once again to speak, “Not until a vicious and cunning being, unknown to all, hacked the codes of digimons and infected them with a virus. Soon it spread, delivering more and more meanness to this world. You seemed to have been influenced by it. But I believe that the good in you prevented it from taking full control of you…” ending his explanation with a heavy sigh.

Alforce appeared to be convinced. He folded his arms and inquired, “So, how can I get rid of this negative energy in me?”

The elder eyed at a weird contraption next to him and replied, “Here, step in it and you shall be cured and your pain may be relieved. Be known to you that the evil energy may relapse any time, when more of such forces are near. But not to worry though, if it is one or two near you, the effect is almost negligible. But don’t let them get too near you. Now, step inside if you may.”

Alforce entered the pod, eager to get rid of the scars of his past. As the operation began, Alforce could feel more and more parts of his violent self being contained. When it was finally over, Alforce stepped out, as if he was someone new. “Now Alforce, love is something precious that had been lost from some poor folks out there. It is a warm feeling that you can feel and it makes you feel happy just feeling that feeling. Your job is to help them recover what is stolen from them, just like how I gave you back your consciousness. I love you as your creator and that’s why I do it. Here, take this!” A D3-like device appeared in front of Alforce. “This has similar functions as the purifier here. There are some hidden ones for you to figure out. I hope it serves you well…goodbye my son…I will always be with you…” the old man slowly fades away.

“Hey old man! Wait…” Alforce sulked. He recovered shortly, and with a look of determination, he grabbed the mini-purifier and headed out to complete his mission.
